I made these last year for the girls' teachers, I may make them again this year. They are super easy.
Start off making your hat.
To make the hat you will need half an oreo cookie and a hershey kiss.
To make the broom you will need pretzel sticks and laffy taffy---yellow of course.
Flatten the taffy and cut it in half
Cut the end with scissors to make fringe
Wrap around the bottom of your pretzel stick
Now for your melted witch:
(if I had actually taken pictures WHILE I made them, you would have a picture of just the melted witch)
You will need wax paper, green melting candy melts and a little bit of dark chocolate
Spoon the melted green candy onto the wax paper, spread it into a circle with your spoon.
Spoon some of the melted chocolate on top and swirl it with a knife.
Place the hat and broom on top of the "melted witch"
Place your pan full of witches in the fridge to set.
After they were set, I put them each in their own ziplock bag.
I added a topper I made to the bag that says "Melted Witches." I stamped the letters onto green Halloween paper.
I cut the edges with one of my punches that looks like a fence (I bought it a few years ago and had never used it. Was glad to have it come handy)
Lastly I stapled the topper to the bag and the girls passed them out to their teachers and their bus driver.

ReplyDeleteI wanted to respond to your comment over on our blog about the coffee filter wreath.
I did just use a hot glue gun to attach the coffee filters, and put a bunch on. The more you put on, the fuller the wreath will look. You can also "puff" them out to make them appear larger and more full :)
